Strung

You string a strand
of words like pearls
around my neck
that whisper
sweet nothing
promises
across my clavicle
and mingle there
with heart beaten thrums
and susurrated sighs

You flow between
my bones
and linger between
fingers of light
behind my eyelids
coursing through my
bloodstream
leaving phantom
aches between
my thighs

You wrap yourself
around me like
satin-wove silk
spinning a spell
of love and trust
but when I fall
the threads pull taut
leaving me strung up
strung out
and strangled by your lies
