The More I Love You
The more I love you,
The more I hate me.
Because I won't know what to do
The day that you decide to leave.
I'll remember every moment,
That you said forever.
And I'll feel every butterfly
As they run for cover.
You said you wouldn't leave,
But I know that's a lie.
You'll get bored and fall in love,
And I'll be left behind.
I'll never say this to your face,
You'll deny every word.
You'll say that I'm crazy,
And that I am your world.
But something feels wrong,
You deserve better than me.
I will love you forever,
But when you're gone I'll let you be.
So for now I'll hold on,
And pray that you stay.
And ignore the fact
That you'll leave me someday.
The more I hate me.
Because I won't know what to do
The day that you decide to leave.
I'll remember every moment,
That you said forever.
And I'll feel every butterfly
As they run for cover.
You said you wouldn't leave,
But I know that's a lie.
You'll get bored and fall in love,
And I'll be left behind.
I'll never say this to your face,
You'll deny every word.
You'll say that I'm crazy,
And that I am your world.
But something feels wrong,
You deserve better than me.
I will love you forever,
But when you're gone I'll let you be.
So for now I'll hold on,
And pray that you stay.
And ignore the fact
That you'll leave me someday.
