Undercover
I wore white
the dress seldom worn
but sunny it was
and happy were my thoughts
the day I met my husband to be
Though he will argue even now
that it was my smile and charm
that won him over as we walked
chatting from bread to freezer aisle
But I'm more inclined to believe
the white dress and it's unbeknown
qualities of revealing detail that I'd
not want revealing unless with a trusted
lover
That white dress
I should thank each fibre
for bringing him to me
maybe I'll wear it again
though just for him this time.
