Raping the land that gave them breath
Time
So much anger between
Warlike in destructive ways
Them
Those
They
Life is important
precious commodity
Empires rise
then inevitably fall
WAR
death
Religion
Secret whispers till
crowded rejoicing squares
destruction
greed
folly
WAR

New lands
discovered
built upon
greed
taken by force
WAR

People
power
jealousy
toppled
moved aside
trodden on
WAR

Man enslaved man
colour or belief
hatred
WAR

to end all wars
great war
in the name of..
king and country
few returned

We watched as man loved man
as woman loved woman
harmony
Unafraid
to come out..

as you said....war is good for nothing Rose...lines the pockets of some and strips others of their country, their hope, their lives and their dignity...
