Wishful Thinking

I wish I could lasso the moon-🌝
carry it with me like a ballon;
light up all the dark crevices
hidden in these shadowy alleyways.

I wish I could wake up in the morning to smooth flesh-
unscarred by yesterday's
pocket of regrets.

I wish I could lay my head
soundly on a chest-
Hear a heart that beats for me

I wish I could scream your name
at the top of my lungs
to the diamonds lining goldmines
in the sky-
Have them hear,
and grant my pleas-
Bring you here to me.

I need you.
The allusive character that haunts every corner of my thoughts,
and absence is felt in between
bare fingers-
Unlaced;
no trace of life
to lend some form of grace.

Are you out there
talking to the moon too?
Do you lye awake at night,
and long for the missing stranger?

I wish I knew you were waiting too- Make the travels a little more bearable while seeking something true.

So I'll send messages in bottles
to brave the ocean blue.
One day, if you're out there,
I'll find my way to you.
