Eclipsed By The Moon

Do you feel the wickedness in me
when I enter here?

black tendrils that grab you by the throat
preceded by the rotten stench of death
an animated corpse
that doesn't know it's dead
my visage eclipsed by the moon
the face of torment and rage prevails

if you look closer
you will see a halo
circling the blackness

little rays of light peaking through the hate
a tenderness I shy away from
fear at the core of things

hiding behind the beast
I let him talk
it's the street in me

with an alter ego that rules
I want to put on softness
don her like the sweet fragrance of lavender

take the face of death off
cast him aside
though he has protected my heart

iron of will
gripping and raw in expression
taking me through this bedeviled Earth
with steps that make the ground tremble
scorching all in it's wake

come and look a little closer
the sun is here
see me through the veil
