Tattered and torn from years of love and hate, the stitches I've threaded to patch up the holes dangle in the wisp of the wind
Dreams were written down and forgotten until they echoed back in the form of blood and painful tears
This old heart gave up youth, showed love to a loveless being was bruised and battered until it had nothing left to give

Tommie, if you're writing about your heart, you are mistaken. You prove with your poetry that your heart has plenty more to give.

Title almost reminds me of the title of the song "This Old House" (revived in 1980s by our Shakin Stevens).
