The Lonely

She walks into the bar that night
A dirty blonde beauty never seen there before
And every guy and some women as well
Want to see her golden beauty in the pale moonlight

In their minds they would dance in the light from the stars
And marvel at her unblemished skin
But they remain in their seats
They fear her rejection so they sit in fantasy but afar

If only they knew
Her loneliness deep within
As she longs for the words of an offer to dance
A human touch on her skin

She hates the way her looks keep her lonely
Since it keeps her single among the crowd
She wishes for that human contact
That human touch on her skin
Or that simple dance among the many

Not a one has the confidence or can beat back their fear
Since surely she can’t be alone
She waits for the offer of just a drink or some kind conversation
So she walks away and every eye follows
But not a one comes near

She walks on out of the bar
Into the light of the moon
With nobody holding her hand
And cries as she starts up her car

She hates the way her looks have kept her lonely
So many nights when she needs some love
From anyone who will come to say hello
To that dirty blonde beauty with the fearful smile
The beautiful girl who is perpetually lonely
