At the grip of midnight come
The beasts of flesh and bone
In Carpathian graveyards
I have never felt so at home

The mildew, cold winds blew
Across the cross
Of skeleton crews
Wards against devils
The albatross
Flies over, my shoulder
The shadow, revels
As my flesh grows colder

Her tombstone, long since gone
To elements
And twisted love songs
Time took my black heart
And the laments
Hammer in, wage of sin
Our lost dying spark
And drove a thorn in it

But still...

At the grip of midnight come
The beasts of flesh and bone
In Carpathian graveyards
I have never felt so at home
In splintered trees corpses hung
For sins I can't atone
At Carpathian mountains
I have never felt so alone

Won't you sing me a tune
A mood to lighten the gloom?
Candles and shadows mentioned
But sing me a song
Of her redemption

I see her drifting
In lightly falling snow
Wish I may, wish I might
Suffer with you tonight

The warm blood and cold mud
Porcelain skin
In the face of God
Righteousness bereft
Lost souls again
Denial, defiled
Angels throw fits
Jealously, all the while

Vampiric, prolific
Under moonless nights
Is quite sadistic
Blood thirst will not wane
Beyond the light
Suffering, killing kings
A lovers game
Beneath the dragon's wing

And still...

At the grip of midnight come
The beasts of flesh and bone
In Carpathian graveyards
I have never felt so at home
In splintered trees corpses hung
For sins I can't atone
At Carpathian mountains
I have never felt so alone

Won't you sing me a tune
A mood to lighten the gloom?
Candles and shadows mentioned
But sing me a song
Of her redemption
