So long ago
It seems so long ago;
The days where dreams flowed
strongly through my soul
Where every step seems to have meant something
There was power in my gaze
Purpose to my steps
Every dream meant the world
Hope barked louder than the soft growl of misery
And determination held the world together
In a structured set of rules
It seems so long ago now
When I was that young girl
Owning the world
Declaring my strength with every carefree footfall
On the black tar of the town that I lived in
When uncaring I sang as loud as I could
Skipping through the world as if there was no weight to me or it
Limiting my sorrow and dark to an empty corner which I would never visit
It seems so long ago
when the corner of dark was that small
The days where dreams flowed
strongly through my soul
Where every step seems to have meant something
There was power in my gaze
Purpose to my steps
Every dream meant the world
Hope barked louder than the soft growl of misery
And determination held the world together
In a structured set of rules
It seems so long ago now
When I was that young girl
Owning the world
Declaring my strength with every carefree footfall
On the black tar of the town that I lived in
When uncaring I sang as loud as I could
Skipping through the world as if there was no weight to me or it
Limiting my sorrow and dark to an empty corner which I would never visit
It seems so long ago
when the corner of dark was that small
