distracted wretch
workaholic dreamer
with a stiff religion
for the self righteous
a somewhat bitter, broken man
compensating for your childhood
and destroying someone else's
piece by chipped piece
he wanders in darkness
a wilderness in which
you've blocked out the sun
in your attempt to be so holy
you've snuffed out
their once bright eyes
always preaching...
...never listening
always judging...
...never seeing
always busy...
... rarely loving
with words like poison
you shower acid rain
into the ground
in which they are planted
and they grow
in paranoia
of the world around them
just an empty place
not really a father
just vaguely filling the void
of a love I wish
I could more freely share
