Shadows in consuming night
Where nothing is defined
Sit among the tarnished hearts
That stare off into emptiness

Where lost nomads
Fly reckless with the bats
And moths regret the attractions
That burn them before they're eaten

Within the evening's solitude
A charming luminescence
Rising up to greater heights
To share in her radiance

Ensconced in new horizons
A slight, sliver of moon
Too fragile to hold much light
Smiles shyly in the dark
