There is a sequence to all Life
A sinew from the sunshine
reaches across night
as the moon in platinum glistens,
A short breath, far in the distance,
the moons stretch through darkness
in a heliocentric center of light,
But only one through my window,
perfect in its lock and layer
of any shadow to hold its own,
Just a rock, floating, reflecting
the rotation of earth; all in
unison with each celestial object,
"Brave Helios"— for a goddess
will light up the night, once in a lifetime,
the lifetime a moment, yet all so long,
A deeper breath, in the distance
the moon is Marilyn Monroe
and the sun is Jean Harlow,
There is a sequence to all Life;
the sun winked to a bed of
pink roses outside my window,
— I woke to listen,
among the shadows from
long ago, and I stood on my own.
