Literary Callouses

It's not when I am having sex that rattles my mind
Its hearing the walls banging from the neighbors that is making me go blind
It's when I'm just curling up with a good book that I hear thump thump thump
And all I could concentrate on is me giving her a good hump
But reading religious history and the various sects
Gives my mind hallucinations that it's all about sex
Discussing with friends some literary genius
Or the maddening sci-fi of Phillip K Penis
Yet, the heroic stories of Hermes and Aphrodite
Confuses me talking to my friend about the symbolism in myths while in his nightie
I tried a book club and they had us read the scolding story of Hester Prynne
Debating whether her actions were of nature or sin
Apparently my comment left some readers vexed
When I said they should replace the A with a triple X
So I tried reading horror, the story of Frankenstein
What could a monster do to confuse this mind?
Who could not love a misunderstood ogre in search of a mate?
Like Juliet when all she wanted was a date!
Instead Romeo and Dr. Frankenstein hatched some plan
So they could be together until the end
By swallowing poison and setting fire to the land
And walk into the distance hand-in-hand.
But not without Juliet’s insistence by banging on those castle walls
To get his attention before the curtain calls
Hearing her moans as she is getting fucked in the church
By the child of Hermes and Aphrodite left Romeo in a lurch
It was not until Frankenstein saved the day
To shun the people with his letter A
The banging and moaning became so loud that I could not stand
That it became instinctual to read with one hand
I decided to sit on the couch away from the wall
And watch some TV, far from it all
Family entertainment is just the sort to thing to get my mind off vagina and phallus
With a delightful episode of Debbie Does Dallas.
