it's no secret
my girl is gorgeous
Guatemalan mix
of seduction and beauty
with a simple gesture
she has me hypnotized
staring into
her icy blue eyes
she's everything
I ever dreamed
the embodiment
of adorable hyperactivity
hardworking determination
and the face of an angel
with a voice
sweet as honey
but now she's mine
and the connection feels cold
I try to be the lady version
of a gentleman
"good morning beautiful"

but I don't feel the love
that I've craved for so long
but there's this boy
my goofy best friend
with big hazel eyes

missing a tooth in his smile
yet so annoyingly charming
making my heart melt
with the simplest things
my redneck Romeo
she doesn't mind
a friend with benefits thing
with a boy like him
but what if
I mess around
and fall in love?

A painfully honest write. Sometimes the chase is the game. It usually happens to guys that way. They win the prize like a poetry trophy, then start seeking out the next competition to win. And what if you do fall in love? Will he be happy with his benefits or go hunting for another lover? Pleasure can be so painful sometimes...
