If only most men thought like you John, the language of love won't be so misconstrued :)

Yep.. The ones a little rough around the edges are always the most annoyingly charming. This pulled me in and wouldn't let go.

It's actually semi autobiographical, i drove down 2011 but never made it to the tip, it got dark and i made it as far as to stark island, but plan to someday to make it all the way to the end.
Thanks for enjoying it Kitty :)

Rona,
Hooked from the salty kiss.... My soul waits at the Tip, wading, knee deep in the shore break. Amazing write!

Thank you very much Tornado, sometimes the best writes come when we actually live it.
I'll come back with the sequel someday when i make it to the tip :)

Oh my, you have an astonishing gift for detail. Hell, I almost fell in love with him reading. This was a marvelous piece of writing. Glad I stumbled in here.

A story which holds my interest, well written poetry with sound text content and technique perfectly matched, a little different from your earlier work. Stanza 5 stands out for me,reeking of stale sweat and rubber, heavy with revultion.

You're right Mr. Kexby, I've been spreading my wings little wider with each write. This was a nice little detour I took, since at the moment i'm involved in a project of collaborations with a friend.
And, i'm very pleased the way this poem turned out but most importantly i'm very glad you liked it.
Thank you so much!

..and there she is the kindest soul i've ever met on here, PD! It's so wonderful to see your words again and get reconnected.
This piece is close to my heart cause i lived and breathed every moment of it for days..and then years, engraved on my mind, so it was coming, i was not sure which form it would take and then it happened one day at work when i was thinking how when someone says Yes, it opens up possibilities and at the same time disappointments.
I"m quite proud of this, and it will always stay very special to me, thank you so much my beautiful friend for dropping by with your sweet gesture.

'We reached Stark Island by midnight

ghosts of Mangroves oscillate

with secrets buried deep.' I stumbled upon this, many thanks to the Sapiosexual comp'. It's glorious, you took us on a journey here and I enjoyed the trip. He's quite an unsavoury character, you seem delighted. Thanks for the write.

Hi Poppy, I'm not sure if 'delighted' is exactly how i'd describe it lol but for sure it made good material to write a poem ;)
To be honest, awhile back before I took a hiatus, reading newly discovered writers thru comps was something i concentrated on rather than reading and commenting on mainstream writers. There are so many out there who are amazingly brilliant but stay in the background because they're not part of the social scene, so I thank you immensely for taking the time to read one of my works and i'm glad it met the expectations and to have found a place in your RL.

To me there seemed a sadistic pleasure in it. However, I agree with you. I have been gone, really gone for quite a while. It felt dead in the water, in me. Back now and glad to be reading such a vast amount of quality from a variety of writers. Glad to be home. See you in future reads.

Was the Waits tune intentional, been a while but "yesterday is here" is about a journey right?
Love the small things sjown that give a certain intimacy between the two of you .
My mind adrift body squiffed
I tossed my bare feet on his knees.
Adored this.

Hi Jennifer, yes the song itself is about a journey but i didn't put it in intentionally. I rarely put preconceived symbolism in poems which are drawn from personal experiences and this certainly is a true account.
I am a huge fan of Waits, this song and blue valentines are my favorites. This was written without any edits, one of those rare poems that just wrote itself.
Thank you so much for liking it, because its handful of my favorite writes as well :)
