all of him that was inside me
every part of him
is gone
the rage of twenty two years
hard exploding years
flows through me
abandon what i was
was nothing much
but a thing
his thing
nothing
the roots of my heart dug up
an end to pain
torturing wordless pain
no shadow for my bones
blue bones unfolded
and I'll exist
in my skin
for me
only for me

No woman is an island, Tommie, but I understand the need to retreat for a while. I notice that the "e" in your title is lower case, so the existence might be one of pain and contemplation. I just hope it doesn't go on forever. You do have to keep plenty of distance for yourself, but others can be included eventually, hopefully. I love this. It contains sadness but a great deal of power.

I was hoping the reader would feel the power with the sadness. Relationships are never easy,and most of the time tough as hell as we all know. I need to start living for me now! Thank you so much crowfly for your wonderful comment and reading me. :)

It is a sad thing when love fades. I hope th at you can be with someone with whom love grows rather than diminishes. This is a sad, beautifully written piece. Brava Tommie.
