The Cards on the Table

"Just four points
are all I want
to make,"
she said.

One:

I have nothing
to give
but myself,
and for
that reason
I must choose
to give or not.

Two:

There are billions
of stars
in the sky
but none
are repeated,
and just so,
I am unique
and must be treated so.

Three:

Dance wherever you wish,
but when you are
with me,
be with me alone
in every facet
and texture
of the complex context.

Four:

I am owned
of myself,
and yet
I lend myself
to you
because you
have earned
the right;
do not throw that away.
