A secret Rendez-Vous

She pressed his hand, which smelled of sun and hay -,
An uninflected, beautiful movement;
She needed intimacy – now -  today,
She kissed him and her tears cried their consent
To buttons being undone - his hand skirts
Her exposed breasts: he pinches; let him squeeze
A cry from her to rival the alerts
Of chaffinches conversing, as they please
Each other in the shadow of hedgerows;
And tractors trundle past; drivers don’t glimpse
The hidden treasures that he has exposed
And plans to take advantage of – he’ll inch
His way inside her, just as he’s begun
To take such pleasure in the hay and sun...
