My Thoughts On Loving Two People

I love your train of thought and desire in wanting to convey something so intricate as loving two people at the same time.

This jumped out at me:

For if you can actually love two people
Without being able to know the difference
Then something is deeply wrong with your heart

I'm not sure that anything is 'deeply wrong' with their heart. Doubt and uncertainty are part of the human condition. Lesson plans don't come in a universal by-the-book for all humans. We each leave the light and come here for experience; to grow, and to learn, to be. What if that design included loving two people at once? What is to be learned? What higher vibration attained by experiencing this? How do we reach it? What example do we set for ourselves and those involved? Is it a moral one? Is it one which teaches honesty and truth at a very difficult point?

Not sure about anything except that they'll walk away with something from the course of action they chose. Maybe the choice is one of the two, maybe the choice is not.  I can't say or know because it's not my experience to. I can honestly say I don't think there's anything deeply wrong with their heart.

Word life, yo! I have a few friends who engage in polyamorous relationships and it requires a great deal of communication, trust and maturity. At the same time I know people who are strictly swingers and while being very different, that's also something that causes people to really reflect on who they are and what they value. I've seen that kind of thing succeed and I've seen it fail and I have to say I totally agree that a person has to love themselves fully before they can love even one, much less two.

Sometimes you are so focused on your own needs


So if there's a hole inside that has to be filled and one, two or three can't do it, then the ambiguity manifests. It's that one phrase that is key: Without being able to know the difference. If you got placeholders to shore up your emotional deficiencies it won't matter who or how many you got, because that's your own damn job to fill your heart before you can share it.

Once I learned to love myself, rejection, being single, being in an open relationship, and still remaining monogamous, having female friends who I love very much but remain platonic with, even through changes has all opened up channels of realization.

For sure. Even the situations that I thought were a no-benefit waste of my time when they were happening left me with some jewels to sort out. And doubt and uncertainty truly are part of what make us grow. Society definitely needs to re-think its views on monogamy and commitments and you're spot on.

It's the reeling back from the pain and confusion of figuring things out by going through them that causes social standards to be set until a whoooole paradigm is followed that people don't even bother to question.

Maybe loving two people is just easier the older and more experienced you get with handling your own emotions?
