Tactile

Invading your space
As you sleep
I find ways
And excuses to pull you closer to me

Just a little cold
And only your warmth
Can fix it

My hands follow
Skin trails
Tracing every contour
Memorizing every detail
Your pain, your scars
Your pleasure, your heart
Knowing you inside out
Inch by inch

Pathways in tactile image
Stay locked in my brain
My hands know their way around your body
As if it were my own

And I could find you always
Through any cloud of darkness
In a crowd of many
I'd know your skin

Immeasurable texture
Ignites something special
Within

Ask me where it hurts the most
I will go to it within seconds
And my inner pleas to heal
I will convey through soft translation

I note your changes
And preserve your strength
Because I love to feel
Your growth on my fingertips
And when you forget
All that's left
I will be the other storage outlet
You never knew you had

And you can turn to me
To find that data
You thought was lost
And the bits
That I cherished
But you never thought were worth collecting

Ask me where your favorite spot is located
Watch me gravitate toward it in an instant
 I'm there
No place better

I love to touch it
To taste and explore it
Just in case I can discover ways
To make you feel it stronger than the last

I want every time to be different
The slightest change to keep you guessing
Anticipating my touch
But never knowing what to expect

On the edge of bliss
If you should fall
My arms are here to catch you
And keep you
Like this

Stirring softly
A smile on your face
You're dreaming
While I'm awake
And dreaming too

Shared smiles
As I lay here
With you

Could our minds be in sync
Wanting the same thing
It's hard to think
When all I can do
Is wish to turn this dream
Into reality

I refrain from movement
To capture sweet encapsulation
Of your tactile view
Whole and completely
Meant to be retained
Safe and secure
Inside my heart's frame

In dreams
Your portrait
Remains

The full picture of you
That only touch
Can explain
