Black Fat

I had a strange dream last night
I walked in a haze to the window
The sky was chocolate brown
With whipped cream clouds
And streaks of cappuccino
The sun was a violent blue
I hesitantly looked out of my window
It all felt and looked odd
A fat black crow clumsily landed
On my slate topped wall
He looked around then began to call
He began to dance a crow dance
And stopped as he was joined
On the wall by a grey squirrel
The fat black crow spoke
In a crow language that
I could not easily understand
He gestured to the squirrel
Winked and beckoned come hither
The squirrel retorted “hell no!”
I obviously could understand it
It said “What do you think I am? Nuts?”
He flicked his tail turned swiftly
And ran up the nearest tree
The fat black crow looking frustrated
Restarted his strange crow dance
Restarted calling and cawing
The atmosphere had changed
The sky had turned purple
Mauve coloured wispy clouds
Sporting heliotrope highlights
A fluorescent green sun shone
Undeterred by atmospheric changes
The fat black crow cawed
And did that creepy walk
Those only crows can do
Towards the tabby cat
Sitting on the wall preening itself
Fat crow screeched his intentions
The cat hissed and spat his reply
“Well it’s not going to be me.”
As he leapt down from the wall
And sauntered off as cats do
Crows frustration was obvious
He danced and cawed
He pranced and squawked
He was joined on the wall
By a silth like female crow
She eyed him up and down
He ogled her glorious figure
The sky had suddenly changed
The sky was now Barbie pink
Pastel pink soft bulbous clouds
Smeared with cherry blossom
The Sun was a fruity burned orange
Fat crow dance became more frantic
Puffing his chest out, being romantic
His caws became much louder
She was frozen to the spot
He screeched even louder
Unfrozen she dropped from the wall
She just dropped down dead
Fat crow swooped down
He pecked out her eyes and
Started to eat her still warm flesh
Finished with his meal
He hopped back onto the wall
He was now silent and slow
He turned to look at me
And sweetly smiled a crow smile
The smile that only a crow could
He flew off circling back
To splat my window
Laughing as he flew past
The sky turned a fat black
Dark silver fat shimmering clouds
There was no sun or moon
Announced the alarm clock
The dream dissolves in a
Black coffee and a cigarette
As I try to ponder its meaning
