(a far superior sexual toy than any other)
Pushing envelopes
Boundaries

Your mind can none other replace
This is an unassailable truth.

Enwrapping me in sheer lava flows of desire

The permutations of desire, so multifaceted are they.
It is with a heavy heart, indeed, that I contemplate your comment, luv, for I can only fathom within it immense sadness, a great expanse of woe for desire is a gift, to my mind, and to share that gift, even fleetingly - mind-to-mind is a blissful, oft transcendent thing.
Certainly, there is room within life for long-lasting interactions, and I do not mean to diminish their importance nor significance; there is also demand in life for what is brief, the fleeting vignette. Two minds meeting in bliss that leaves both changed in better ways, transformed by pleasure and delight, sheer joy in life, joie de vivre, eh?
A brief dalliance of the mind is preferable to me than one in body.
That said, luv, this poem is not about the dalliance in brief; tis about a long, so long, protracted, extensive relationship of the mind with depths hardly fathomable by those uninvolved. ;-* Mayhap hardly fathomed by those within either. ;-p

I understand the meaning of the poem. My comment was referring to the long, extended relationship of consciousness entwining with another here on earth.
In reference to grief, it's only that which accompanies wisdom (I cringe when I say that because the new is barely cast) of age. Not the grief of now nor truth in your response. As Woody Allen once said, "Sex without love is a meaningless experience, but as far as meaningless experiences go its pretty damn good."
Perhaps it's age perhaps it's experience perhaps it's how I've come to value my time, but sex without love for the sake of sex simply holds no interest for me. I am not referring to the romantic love that creates a fear and holding on of what one doesn't want to lose. I am referring to the known unknown of Love that could never be defined in these fleeting words, only recognized in the spirit of light.
Dallying can be good for a soul-exchange of learning.
