Forget The Roses

A gentleman would not linger so
Between my thighs or
Leave traces of electricity
Upon my skin to scurry along my pathways
He would not drink so
Of my fountains and let the taste
Linger in the back of his throat.

A gentleman would not touch me
And leave me to burn or use me
To slake savage lust

A gentleman would not travel
My valleys and crests with his hands
He would not bury himself deep
Inside my garden and pluck my petals
Make himself quiver along my stems
And steal the growing nectar found
In the groves and grottos of  my arousal
He would not take from me all
And then demand more

A gentleman would not slide
Into my secrets for his
Afternoon refreshment or go
Roaming as he pleases
He would not make me swallow
The white heat of his desire

A gentleman would not let
Passion words replace polite voices
Or stripe me when I refuse to bend
He would be gentle, patient, kind
And court me with propriety
Laying roses at my feet
And stars in my eyes
You are no gentleman, Sir, but
I do not mind

A gentleman has no place in my bed
