Like a Masquerade
Even when you're worlds away
I can still hear that heartbeat
You’re the cure to my poison
A better half to make me complete
I’m hurting to see that laugh and smile
Whenever you’re not around to grace me with them
Tired of watching gloomy skies, need my sun to drive them away
I’m coming close to you
You’re coming close to me
My nerves are looking for away
(To run)
Can’t find a reason to
It’s like a foolish game, a masquerade
To bring you in with my movements
And just maybe
I’ll be lucky enough to, get a dance with you
Every day without doesn’t feel right
Why can’t I get you out of my mind?
I’m a protector; I’ll do this with all my might
But you’re no mind reader…
Trying to say those words I need to say
Give me a sign, do it with your eyes
Subtle movements if need be
Just do it quick, because I can’t wait another day
I’m coming close to you
You’re coming close to me

From the world outside
A peace I longed for
Keeping me calm when I feel like letting go
My best friend, but I wish to be more
To scared, so I still hold back
What I wish to gain could be glorious
But I couldn’t bare the thought of losing you all together
Tell me why did you have to be so beautiful?

this has a lovely lyrical quality, DC... you should put it to music if possible or do a reading, it begs to be spoken aloud.

One reason I write is because i always wanted to be in a band but can't do anything lol. So I live out a lot of my music love through my poetry. Not sure who I would read this to. Everyone that I tell about my poetry looks at me weird lol.
