Tie-Die is Dead
There you are yelling,
In front of my new girlfriend
Carrying on like some crazy mad woman
And when you leave, my new girl ask “who was that?”
I think back, looking at glimpses of the past
Thinking about all the fighting and screaming
The countless excuses I made for you, the attempting to help with no response
I know as much as it hurts, sometimes the best medicine is separation
This doesn’t mean I never loved you; you gave me a feeling that will always stick
History together that can't be erased
But somehow you became bad for my health
With that torch burning out long ago
It was me left to clean up all your mistakes
And as I wish for new days with an old love
I know it would just be wasted time
So when my new girl ask “who is that?”
All I can say is…
She’s nobody to me
In front of my new girlfriend
