Life going nowhere fast    
despite your running    
dodging round after round      
with stealth and cunning  
rather than holding your ground    
fighting the good fight   
for your inalienable right    
to see the world through    
undilated eyes  
     
Always easier to believe  
in the same old lies    
 
As bombs burst above in the air  
take more hits from the bong  
sit there like an idiot and stare      
leave your worries behind        
while the only life you have    
is bleeding dry  
 
Never you mind  
     
the war machine continuing to roll    
Coping mechanisms assuming control    
taking their toll, corroding your soul    
body eaten alive from the inside  
as you're consumed whole

the coward's way out  
never leading anywhere
