Behold

The beauty is in my eyes
Clearly I am now the beholder
I am high on a cliff looking down
A darkened sheer drop below me
Yet it’s warm air I feel on my face
The drop, strangely gives me no fear
As I raise my eyes to the brisk horizon
The sun is on the rise it warmly hugs me
The air is crisp, so crisp it could almost snap
I drink in the power of this bright new day
I breathe its intense zest for life and living
Mighty, jagged snow capped, blue mountains
Cascade downwards like blueberry milk shakes
In to the brown chocolate mud of lower slopes
These chocolate sways dissolve into greenery
Misty pine forests bristle and prickle gently
Moving like minted curtains fluttering in the breeze
A comfy looking green blanket of grass runs down
To the shoreline and seems to merge with the water
The lake still holds the darkness of the night
Like a enormous flock of black crows landing
Despite its darkness there are glints of silvery blue
As it metamorphosis’s the black to a royal blue hue
I can see from the east a rolling blank of low cloud
Like dirty discarded cotton wool balls about to fall
My beautiful vision is about to be obscured
I look down at myself; I am clad in a black
Full length expensive, coat, it’s a coat I don’t own
I feel like I have been wrapped in liquorice
The more I start to think the more strange
My predicament becomes; how did I get here?
Dressed like this, amerced in natures beauty
Standing here in a place where I feel no pain
I feel no fear, oddly, I am warmed and at peace
The greyness from the east grows ever closer
“David; Time is now short.” A voice in my head
Not a booming angry voice like the voice of God
It’s a gentle pleasing tone, oozing compassion
“David; It’s time, time to jump.” she says
It’s a mild and gentle almost musical encouragement
I take one last look; Behold natures awesome display
I raise myself on my heals and then my tip toes
And like an Olympic gymnast, prepare to leap
“David; jump, please jump, I will catch you.”
I put one foot over the precipice and comply
Like a man; Already dead
