Padparadscha (a collaboration with Rina Vee)
I’m grateful for the morning
and the dolphin’s golden ocean,
I’m grateful for the fishes
and Sir Isaac’s laws of motion,
I’m grateful for a cappella
and an earth that’s good and green,
A gentle feeling for a moment
as I close my eyes and breathe
The color of the sapphire
steering magic o'er waves
As the sunset strings its candy
pink and orange through the grain,
And for the one million sons of poetry,
prayers are cast on ships
in oceans within seven pearly seas,
The whittler of time, a whittle at will
as he diddles a star's agleam,
"Mid countless constellations cast
A million worlds may be,
With each a God to bless or blast
And steer to destiny."
within their souls illuminating,
…and what of the meaning?
As the moon is one and countless many
moving through the depths of eternity
for the love of life, the night, and feeling,
In a voice so calming,
quiet are ten thousand things
cast in the padparadscha sea,
Whispers floating aimless
through my veins gently drifting.
