I thought I knew
I thought I knew
How to give someone "all of me" for about an hour
How to dodge conversations about feelings and the future
How to turn a simple kiss on the lips into a goodbye
How to please someone without a smile
How to stumble home at 3 am drunk and alone
How to make ecstasy fuelled touching feel like love
And how to make love feel like a disorder
I thought I was happy
But you taught me that there is worth
In morning breath kisses
In hugging someone so tight you feel like one with their skeleton
In drowning in ugly bed sheets
In fighting about coffee tables and picture frames
In watching someone soundly sleep on your side of the bed
In completely loosing yourself in another being,
Blending together the pieces of each of your lives
And calling it home
You taught me that there is worth in my home.
