Standing on the precipice (With LordCreepy)

I stand on the edge
afraid to look down
at the world below

I throw down a rock
to see if I can hear it land
but I hear nothing

I get myself low to the ground
and lean over to take a look
nothing but fog

Logic dictates I should pull back
or risk falling into the abyss
but I can't look away

Forces beyond my comprehension
draw me ever closer
to the prospect of being forever lost

Should I wish to fall
I'll not jump
But drift willingly

Whilst I plummet downwards
I not to never feel the earth
Beneath my worn feet

I'll gladly, and gracefully drop
No wish to fly
No wish to soar

I'm so low already
The ground is near
The sky too far away

With the sensation of flying
comes the weight of shame
in surrendering to the void

I wasted my  life
trying to pick myself up
but as I fell, I failed

I lay at the bottom
No where to climb
just as ever, you all look down on me

I'm through holding on
To the pains and anxieties
I close my eyes and drift off with a smile
