Sweet Ride

Freeway flying towards the west
The city melting in the peripheral
And drama dwindling in the mirror
Metal on the radio
And in the passenger seat Enigma Rose
Predatory and proud
Sufficient to drive a man insane
Her fingers releasing this zipper
And mouth heading south
Speed now erratic, trajectory swerve
Horns blaring right and left
Still hitting the accelerator
All the way to the pier
A goal destined and predetermined
With the vanishing point finally found
Somewhere in the starlight of her smile.
