I'd Tell Him
And I'd tell him to his face, all that I've seen,
if my vision would but hold still for a time less busy,
a time when it's purpose was less intriguing on the eye.
And I'd go tell him all and more about my distant star I'd seen
on that quiet night when my guardian was withdrawn and lonesome,
a time when wistful wishes were left out with the garbage for collection,
I'd go tell him not to be so eager to leave them bagged up out in the cold
but to open up and go make wishes as i have done,
Yeah, I'd tell him all,
especially those thoughts I've discovered
in the lost and found about love.
