When the sun sets the sleepless arise in unconditional declaration
To cast off the shackles of peaceful slumber.
These are those who cannot sleep
But are ecstatically charged at night
Enraptured by the relentless wave to their senses.

These are the Artists who paint in their dreams and nightmares
These are the Athletes who have power in weariness
These are the Addicts who use no material substance
These are the Visionaries driven by their hallucinations
These are the Mad-ones caused by nothing but their own thoughts
These are the Scholars chasing enlightenment in the darkness
These are the Mortals who believe themselves Gods at night
These are the Nocturnal Living, who are dead in day
These are the Sleepless, the Restless
Ready to face tomorrow but worn out by today
