Last Night

Last night our electrical carbon monoxide detector was broken and wouldn't stop going off.  I wrote this poem why we were trying to shut it off.  

It started around 2:14
It shared with us it's deadly scream
It kept going off
It never stopped
Now I'm wide awake
With my ears at stake
Soon my ears will be bleeding
And my heart will be pleading
I know this is probably an exaggeration
But come on
I'm trying to sleep
You try going through the exact same thing
