Ocean Deep
She is of the most silent hearts
With a smile that speaks a thousand words
But they won't listen to her story
That is...
Until she's gone
That agonizing pain won the battle
The fight she'd been fighting hath won
Nobody was there to catch her
As she took that final jump
Now she's climbing
Fuck it
Don't pretend you ever gave a damn
The weak pounding of your tears
Against my shallow, shattered heart
Keep your pity darling
It doesn't mean shit

As I started reading it, the case of Sandra Bland came to mind. "They won't listen to her story until she's gone" - that describes her. Now that she has committed suicide while in jail(July or August), the news media has brought her case to the public.A cop saw that her licence plate was out of state. So as a visitor passing thru, she would be unlikely to remain there just to go to court. Rather she'd be likely to just pay the fine. What he did was follow her car, then signal for her to get over into another lane so he could go forward.But when she moved into the other lane, he pulled her over for not using her turn signal! He then gave her a ticket. Then he told her to put out her cigarette. She refused. So he arrested her. The car was towed to the pound. Which means a lot of money each day it is there. She was in jail 3 days.Then she hanged herself. But at least the officer is suspended. And will probably be fired, like he should be. I wonder how many other drivers were manipulated into getting tickets the same way she was.
But at least she accomplished something good with her life - getting someone fired (hopefully) who has no business being a police officer!
