belief
Once, I did believe
Sucked in to this universal tomb
At birth, it was over
Laying my heart on the tabernacle
Praying for salvation
Praising the name of the holy ones
So young, so innocent
So bright and untouched by darkness
Once, the blood ran
Staining the aisles of the wanting man
Preacher demanding our complete control
To Do as your told
The blood ran thick
Boiling around the crucifix
Screaming away my omitted heart
Twisted inhibitions
Follow or suffer the consequences
Taste the flesh of man
Drink his blood, spilled by our hands
Salvation is on its way
If only you just behave
The blood ran.
Leaving the hearts dry
Every soul, throwing away their lives
What are we but rats
In a proverbial lab
Dried up, and untouched
I took it back
My heart is with me,
Tainted from the sun.
The tabernacles still bleed
The aisles are still stained
Alas, it shall remain.
Unholy in its holy name.
