Black Hole
The nights are long,
and I question them
I say,
Why are you so long?
They say nothing,
only silence,
so long.
They go on
and on,
and....
and I question them
I say,
Why are you so long?
They say nothing,
only silence,
so long.
They go on
and on,
and....

I really like this. It's profound and deeply lonely. I would change only one word..just "they." Unless that's intentional-I assume you are speaking to the night, and the night doesn't answer. If you clarify this, it is a terrible beauty of a poem.

I've known so many nights like
these, perhaps we've known
the same nights - I mean they
get around, don't they...

I can relate to long nights, dark and lonely and loud with silence. Touching poem, Hash!

Mister Hash, you really have perfected brevity... i can't express just how much i love this little piece of wonder...
... it reminded me of a quote by one of my favourite authors re silences
"it was the greatest silence of the three, wrapping the others inside itself. It was deep and wide as autumn’s ending. It was heavy as a great river-smooth stone. It was the patient, cut-flower sound of a man who is waiting to die."
~Patrick Rothfuss

And with them comes a new day... dawning with possibilities only to end with a long long night full of silence...
I feel it too....
