Got To keep It Going

Keep it going

I took a walk in the early hours of dawn;
Straight down the main road without a stop.
The sun was still jogging on the horizon;
Like a teardrop.
And the streets felt old and forgotten;
Like a corner stop.
Angels were still delivering souls;
Like taximen.
The road was still waiting for another beating;
Like married fools.
Dogs had turned into clowns,
While flowers were ugly with hideous frowns.
Faith was still a princess;
While hope was still young and ageless.
Dreams were still a splendour;
And failure was still a slender.
Yesterday's pains were still an ancient feeling;
All was new and life had a new beginning,
Life really goes on.
So I kept on walking like the Amazon;
Down into the unknown like a casket,
I wanted the dawn to linger on.
And I sent my life roving like an insect.
