Revery

I slept in the arms of your metaphors
and wept for your similes.
As you shot from your eyes
hot lazers
that died in this heart
of mine.

So I snoozed in
your bed,
with half an eye open,
and I silently watched you leave.

You said you'd never leave.
You said you'd never leave.

So I took my heart
to the butcher
and he gave me
twenty pounds
and I wept over your lost similes
and I slept without your meta-

For you lied,
you lied,
you lied
to me
with a suitcase
of broken memories.

I slept
in the arms of the Devil
and kissed his sweet revery.
He was everything
that you weren't.
Couldn't cope
with much, you see.

I let you die.
I let you die,
my dear
and I watched you die
I watched you die
for me.
