The Love That She Deserves
The stars all moved in rotation,
orbiting around the center of our universe that day.
The day gravity that had once existed,
evidently so clear before,
seemed to dissipate and fade away.
All at once the world made sense.
Happy endings became happier beginnings.
As we walked her into the next chapter of life,
all that beheld the flame,
that of which flickered so brightly before them,
fell onto praying knees,
Giving thanks to the heavens for true love's existence
and for forging together something so breathtakingly remarkable.
It was, in fact, a love that she deserved.
A wish that turned to prayer,
said by boys with bruised hearts by their bedsides,
played out in the most beautiful of ways.
A masterpiece painted in happy tears.
The stars that were reached for,
they did not forsaken us.
The beauty of their proudly whispered I DO'S
echoed in our hearts
and ignited a flame that will light the way
to find our own happy beginnings one day.
A love that she deserves is a love that was deemed impossible
by doubting hearts and hopeless wanderers,
scrambling around in the dark corners of their minds
with their eyes closed to candle lit streets promising romance.
The impossible kind of love
lives in the hearts for those that reach for it.
Like a wish placed safely on a star with hands to the sky.
Or a prayer to the heavens on long endless nights
for a flicker of light to get you by till morning.
A love that she deserves took her hand,
the one we gave that day.
A boy became a man,
and a mother became a lover.
"Just because" roses now lace her well earned days
and when it rains they never falter
to keep resting demons at bay.
Hands that held her children
that of which hands were used to pray,
received their deemed impossible wishes,
the day they gave her hand away.
The love that she deserves
is a love that grants angels their wings.
Its a love that's deemed impossible
but seeing is believing.
For what was once broken
flies free with the morning breeze.
Our angel has now taken
her promised happy beginning.
orbiting around the center of our universe that day.
