Burning Bright
yelling to a crowd about my honor
won't convince them, none
it’s all about the heart that is given to one
if I show you trust with devotion
then all will have to acknowledge my heart
as we raise each other up
can you be my one?
fighter, lover, woman with struggles
i’m the bad boy, hard worker, nasty minded man
finding that we complement one another perfectly
the one who understands
waits for me, keeps me company
staying when others have left
trying to find the right words to say
so I’ll just say that I’ll make you smile
kiss away all your fears
hold you tight to show you you're all mine
and if you want me
i’ll treat you no less than a queen
so many naysayers
they talk about us with such a bitter tongue
heart on my sleeve, my love will be the proof
even if the only one I convince is you
then I’ll be happy to say
I have everything I need
sincere as the life I live
I guarantee there is no other me
so I’ll put in the effort
find the time
because I’ll be damned to watch this love
walk away from my life
