Seeds of Sorrow

Day to day I am greeted,
by a feeling often repeated,
sorrow has been deeply seeded...

deeply seeded within me...

Words of comfort go unheeded,
often feeling neglected...cheated,
the cycle is never completed,

But few will ever see.

Though this heart has often pleaded...
rarely receiving what is needed.
Always hoped, but always defeated,

This heart may never be free...

Passion's fire has receded,
desires now barren and depleted,
finally the sadness has succeeded,

burying a love that cannot be.
