An Eden for Ivy

- An Eden for Ivy -

Oh heart of mine, what caused thy beating?
Like drums across the fields and the valleys.
As thunder it is, across a sky full of storms!
For such is the passion I feel, like a greeting,
Betwixt lovers who share kindred destinies!
Even on a chill day, such fire hotly warms…
The depths of my soul, raising me to heights,
Beyond the mountains of heavenly paradise!
Above: all Elysian splendor and starry lights.
And I know well the flower whose device…
Whose art so inspired in me: such devotion.
When didst I realize it was more profound?
I had only to search the depths of emotion,
Within my thundering heart, full of sound…
Filled with music that didst not play before.
It was this which wove its’ art upon me so!
Such magical art of love: and naught more.
Enough love to purify me, of all past woes!
Cease thy tears, look to our bright future…
No need for sorrow, for one so very pure.

Lonesome as an: ivy, I see thee fair flower…
And thy plight calls to my heart like flame,
Drawing me to thee in ways so unforeseen.
It is beyond beauty, thy enchanted power,
And since I felt it, I have not felt the same.
I see only thy spirit, like starlight’s gleam…
Calling to me from the vastness, beautiful!
Lovely beyond the light of the moon itself,
Making my once-tormented heart so still!
Except for the thunder’s rhythmic wealth,
The bounty of which was bestowed thus:
By thee to me, in thoughts and in feelings!
Let thy heart be given, to contented trust,
Fairer, than the galaxies in their gleaming!
Beloved mine, and I thy own as kindred,
Our pact beyond the very world entirely:
Beyond, sunsets purple or sunrises red…
We will walk together, as one, in dignity.
Cease thy tears; let me wipe them away,
Love, is our salvation, our new risen day.

Let the past fade until it is beyond recall,
For mine eyes behold a future so grand!
Past the fire that burns hearts and souls:
A garden like a paradise before any fall,
Awaits us, in our created promised land.
Let love be the law that thus consoles…
Thy troubled heart, oh ivy of my longing!
The gentle rain that falls upon the garden,
Will bring with it a feeling of belonging…
And thou, oh most blessed of all women:
Shall never need weep or sorrow, again.
Behold a golden path waits, not walked!
We shall walk it together, no more pain,
Only joy everlasting, as when we talked.
I am love, I am light; I am true serenity…
As thou art to me and so do I serenade,
So that thou may feel brighter, blissfully!
Believe in our garden, and be not afraid.
A new Eden is not built of a day’s craft,
But takes time, to be savored at the last.
