Not being there

I don’t want to be here
To witness the heart break and try to fix
To see the tears and wipe them
To feel the pain and endure it
To hear the bullshit and ignore it
I just don’t want to be here

I don’t want to be here
To witness the slaughter and stand idly by
To see death so close and not run away
To feel useless trying to be of some use
To hear the lies and not expose them
I just don’t want to be here

I don’t want to be here
To witness your deception and pretend it didn’t happen
To see that you don’t care whilst I continue to do so
To feel stabbed in the back with a preference to be stabbed in the front
To hear your evil laughter as I try to just walk away
I just don’t want to be here

I don’t want to be here
To witness my aging without good grace
To see the ruins crumble, lacking human cement
To feel anything anymore when you want to be numb
To hear the call of death, that makes you smile
I just don’t want to be here

I don’t want to be here
You can witness me leaving and wave goodbye
You can see I don’t belong here anymore
You can feel what you want because now it does not matter
You can hear my goodbye and breathe a sigh of relief
I just don’t want to be here and neither do you want me to be here
