Questioning Heaven
FABLES OF THE ETERNAL WATCHER
I can hear their voices
A million souls crying out
In unison for attention
In truth full of doubt
Questioning Heaven
In a quest for answers
Prototypes of this age
Unfinished and unprepared
For the dark path that lies ahead
Separate pain shared
Those pleading voices
Singing with their praises
Erebus, Metztli
Here our voices
Summanus, Chandra
Here our calls!
Yes, I have the power
To answer all your prayers
From the religious zealots
To the sooth sayers
Leveling Heaven
In pure cleansing fires
Refuse to heed your call
You are nothing in eons
Past the flow in rivers of time
Lost pantheons
Those failing kingdoms
Screaming with their curses
Anubis, Hodr
Hear our curses
Chernobog, Setesh
Hear our calls!
Why have you forsaken us
In perpetual darkness,
When the shadows come calling
In perpetual madness?
I thrive on suffering
In endless woes of despair
Sacrifices made of warm blood
Is the price to bare
Savoring Heaven
Is earned with trials of hate
Primordial darkness
Woven in a sea of stars
Careless of the hearts of mortals
Since first tears were wrought
In lasting twilight
I watch with empty eyes
