When we were animals

You said life could be so perfect
when we were animals
Like children in the sand, we didn’t know what we had
and life was not as miserable
So tell me how to look you in the eyes, knowing you’ve been consumed by this lie
Don’t tell me I’m living in the past
You secretly want to be there too
Sometimes it’s hard telling you the truth
because you don’t listen to a god damn thing I say
What’s the point in fighting anyway?
You put me down once again
So go fuck yourself my friend
You said life could be so perfect
when we were animals
You had such a reason behind those eyes
Now that reason has faded away just like the summer sky
So let me claw you one more time
For I can find out if you think of me
Because I think of you
Out of all my friends I thought I could rely on the things you said
But when you lie and denied the fact that we could be young forever it takes away from never doing wrong
You could have just stayed away from the drugs, and now you spend your days lying on the floor
While I spend my days wondering where you are
We were special, but now we say goodbye…Forever
It could be so hard
But never look back
It could be so hard
But never look back
It could be so hard
But never look back on me
