the raven
As I was strumming along
A raven came to hear my song
It listened in awe
As my fingers grew raw
I sang
Fly away and spread the word
This might all sound absurd
I'm done dreaming and done thinkin
that I could have my world
As I played the music
The bird stood to listen
It looked in my soul
And knew why I let go
Fly away and spread the word
This might all sound absurd
I'm done dreaming and thinkin
That I could have my world
It ain't what it used to be
But now I'm free
The years that I dreamed
Are the years killing me
A raven came to hear my song
It listened in awe
As my fingers grew raw
I sang
Fly away and spread the word
This might all sound absurd
I'm done dreaming and done thinkin
that I could have my world
As I played the music
The bird stood to listen
It looked in my soul
And knew why I let go
Fly away and spread the word
This might all sound absurd
I'm done dreaming and thinkin
That I could have my world
It ain't what it used to be
But now I'm free
The years that I dreamed
Are the years killing me
