Round 1 (Glenfarclas 105)

Nothing subtle about you
Once the cloud of ethanol passes
And my vision clears
I get fruitcake
Smashed into sherried oak
A holocaust of raisins and glace cherries
Sprinkled with condensed cream
The whites of your eyes, peeking beneath that
Christmas pudding nightmare
Waving its flamethrower threateningly

Swirling you around
I get caramel
And a crap load more alcohol, of course
Something else as well
Sharp but imperceptible
Hints of honeyed malts perhaps
Or a twinge of mint

In my mouth
You are molten sandpaper
Raging fruit fire
Thick and syrupy
Coating every inch in your merciless immolation
Like a comet you strike out for my stomach
Leaving in your wake
Sherry cask vapour
Smatterings of butterscotch fuel dump

With water you
Turn out your toasty woodiness
A tumble in smoked oats
Hello citrus
Have you been bathing in highland malt?
I see your friends raisin and stone fruit
Still linger as well
Minty cologne
But the bassy Pudding mess continue to underpin you

Swirling solicits a hint of smoke

Oh you are slow to relent your heat
Even doused liberally
You still inflame my mouth
But your tones are more white pepper now
With currents and macerated berries
That wood-licking dryness is retained on the finish

A honeyed caramel delight
As you stretch your legs towards my hearth

Yum!

Happy New year
