Instructions for Ingestion

When eating,
you must always enjoy yourself.
When eating a meal,
it is of the utmost importance to
savor it,
to taste the food on your plate.
You must be
present with your pasta,
smell your wine like you are a
virgin
in the arms of
alcohol.
Let your eyes touch every
treasure
as your nose
lies prostrate in the cloud
and your tongue melts
in ecstasy.
Let the plate hold your
power
the fork pick at your
will
and your spoon ladle your
desire.
Do not fight
the knife
that saws your heart in half
like butter.
Do not thrust the food upon your stomach;
take all the hours
you need
in order to let your meal
consume you.
